Introduction

Hello!!

I am Yeda Strasser. I live in Suffolk, Virginia, USA. The main purpose of this blog is to share with you my porcelain painting, which I have been practicing for the last 46 years. I started painting on porcelain in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, my birth place. I have taught this art form in La Paz, Bolivia, Rio de Janeiro and Bahia, Brazil, Bethesda, Maryland, Poughkeepsie, New York and now in Suffolk, Virginia.

As I continue the lost art of porcelain painting,I execute pieces in the Oriental and European styles, as well as contemporary, using techniques from the 15th to 21st centuries. Every porcelain is unique in design with minute detailing, vibrant lush colors, using over the glaze enamels and embellished with lavish 24 carat gold.

I sell in local shops and I do paint on commission, as you can see personalized trays, etc. The blank pieces are acquired in a variety of sources including imported pieces, from Germany, Czech Republic and France (particularly Limoges).
